Recocking a MKV 5 bolt

Recocking a MKV 5 bolt

Hi Gents,

I purchased a MKV in 280 rem a few years back 2nd hand and recently had some troubles with misfires....

I've taken the bolt apart and noted the previous owner had lost the retaining ball from the bolt.

I've popped it all back together and back into storage.

I've not got a replacement ball bearing but have managed to decock the bolt in the process or trying to pull it apart.. so now I can't actually get it recocked so I can go back to step one in of the process... nor can I get the bolt back in the rifle.

So any tips on getting it back into the correct position because I can't move it with my hand

Call Weatherby and find out where to send it for repair. There might be a Weatherby authorized service center closer to you than the main plant in Wyoming.
I discovered the safety on my S2 Vanguard was not keeping the block locked when the lever was all the way back. I am not a good enough trigger tech to try and fix it. The guys in Sheridan figured out the issue and itís back with me.
