I don't have one. 4moa covers too much in my experience and this looks pretty "busy". JMO !

Vortex makes great stuff and you can't beat the warranty.  I guess if it suits your needs that's all that needs saying. Let us know how it works out for you.

I kinda agree, however it is described as a tactical scope, not a hunting scope. I'm sure it will work as a hunting scope, but I'm not sure about pin point accuracy. (understand it's for an AR, but hunting is the application) Let us know what you think about it once you have time to get to the range.

I don't have this one, but I put a Vortex Sparc II on my AR-15 about 2 1/2 years ago and I'm happy with it. Vortex stands behind their products 100%. Whether this works out well I think depends on the distance you will be shooting, as I'm inclined to agree with the comment that it may not be ideal for long range shooting, even though it's supposed to be good out to 500 yards. Let us know how it works for you, trying it is the only way to find out.
Come and take it.

Honestly, this scope really isn’t for hunting... if it works out that it can be used for the field, all the better.

Finally got around to dialing this in. General impression: I like it! It is a bit of a thick crosshair but I was able to hit within 2-3” consistently at 100 yards. I would have no qualms hunting with this optic at reasonable ranges. Say inside of 200 yards.

Optic seems very durable and all functions seems to work exactly as they should. I would recommend it if you are looking for something like this.

My one con is that it’s pretty heavy for it’s size. Might want to keep that in mind if you are looking to keep an AR-15 rig as light as possible. It does “ride well” though. My rifle still feels very functional and easily maneuverable.

Very nice DW, I also like the paint job on the AR.  I have a couple of the Strike Fire II, and they are good red dots, no complaints from my end.  They are not Aimpoint or Eo-Tech, but you can't beat them for their quality and price.

Pound for pound, Vortex definitely holds it’s own!

Dollar for dollar as well! Not a fan of huge dots! The 6.5 MOA circle with a 1 moa dot of the EO tech is my favorite!

I absolutely get that. If I knew I was going to be using this rifle purely for hunting for any period of time, I think would swap this optic out with the 3-9 Leupold Freedom scope I have for it. It sets in one of those UTG mounts I run on my AR10 and I know they hold exact zero time after time. Probably only takes me 1-2 mins to swap them too. What I have not yet tested is the zero hold of the spitfire when taking it off and putting it back on.

I don't use my EO tech for hunting 4 legged critters and not a .223/5.65 either.  ;D

This my friends, it's called the circle of death, don't need the little dot unless it's a precision shot.  ;D ;D ;D

DW, that Spitfire scope and the paint job on your AR make for a cool looking rig. You've got plenty of hunting rifles, why swap out scopes? :)
