I've been surfing around some gun sales sites like gunbroker. Is it safe to buy on there? Has anyone been ripped off or is it pretty safe to buy from them? thx

I've bought a number of guns from Gunbroker in the past 15 or so years.  Had them shipped to a local FFL.  Never had any problems.

Read the seller's feedback.I've bought a bunch off gunbroker.Only had one bad deal go down.Wife sold her husband's 300.Finally had to call the local police and then got ahold of a hunting detective. My problem was over in 3 days after he went by their house.

+1 As Tom say's, be sure to check the seller's feedback reviews and ask the seller any, any questions you feel are relevant to the sale. (serial numbers, shoddy photos, firearm history?, some scopes are optional on rifles, etc.) GunBroker has limited protection policies for buyer's.

Wife sold husbands gun - wow, but I wonder just how often that happens!

What a mess that could turn into -

Only issue I've ever had was a shop not honoring a deal, bought a gun after 2 days of waiting on the "shipping" cost so I could send payment they let me know the gun had been sold locally. So nothing changed hands, I always assumed they didn't honor the deal because it sold for a lowball price. I reported it GB did there thing found out they were wrong, was there a penalty not sure but I didn't loose anything either.

1 out of plenty isn't bad - I've had worse experiences selling guns out of the truck at the local grocery store.
