Well we got skunked. It wasn't for lack of trying did 20 miles a day and 2-3000 ft elevation calling and no luck. A big storm had came threw and downed a ton of oldgrowth. I think it drove them down in the valley and there is no way to hunt that without pack animals.

Thatís tough, but Iíve been skunked many times and keep going back. My son and I are heading to SW Colorado for a 2nd rifle cow elk hunt starting Saturday. Glad you had a safe and fun hunt.

That's hunting. I have been on a lot of unsuccessful hunts. Will you be able to go again before season closes?

No. Its only a 5 day hunt. I am back at work until Thursday. Still have another chance at deer through nov 7th and bear until December.

Covering 20 miles a day for five days is no easy task in itself, but just being out there and never knowing what might happen next sometimes helps to reinvigorate the soul. (keeps you primed for the next hunt) Good luck during the deer and bear season.

I was toast after 3 days! My legs were to the point I couldn't have packed one out so I hung it up.
