SE Colorado

Spent 5.5 days at a friends house in SE Colorado upland bird hunting. With the drought conditions the bird numbers are down, so l went with no exceptions. Ultimately l left with he SE Colorado trifecta, Bobwhite, Scaled quail, and Pheasant.
Also one day while hunting the canyon country for Scaled quail, one of the dogs pointed a mountain lion. The dog was about 10’ from it and l was around 50 yards away when it come out and ran away. Scared the dog so bad it turned and ran howling.
One afternoon my friend took me up in his plane, we flew along the Cimmaron river to the Kansas line, seeing Antelope, Whitetail, and 9 Elk on one of the big ranches
It started with no expectations and ended a trip of a life time

Sounds like you had a great time, and maybe one of the dogs learned a lesson!!!

No we know now we can’t sell her as a Lion dog. She will find them, but l don’t think screaming and howling while running away is a good selling point,  ;D ;D ;D ;D
