Constant 33mph wind out of the North here.Gusts to near 50.Weird that it's not that cold though.55 degrees.

There's a fire East of town too.Need to go out and check my cows out that way.Already had 2 pump jacks go down with blown motors from lines being blown together.Just another day in paradise

Anytime the wind gets into the triple digits you learn what will blow away. Yea, breezy!  :)

Well the 3 volunteer fire departments worked together to stop the fire from getting to one of my places. If the wind direction hadn't helped them it would still be going down the creek bottom. These people should at least have some fire fighting education. It was dumb luck that it didn't burn up a quarter of the county.A friend lost a couple hundred round bales of hay and when I left they were hanging around 2 houses making sure it didn't kick off again.

Wind clocked here at 99MPH last night.
Lots of damage around the country.

yea, you guys in the south got hit pretty good with the wind last night, it only got up to 85 km/hr here, but the 3 hours of freezing rain, was worst.

Ya we were plus 8 yesterday afternoon but the wind got up and a bit of snow blowing but the wind did quite a bit of damage around the country. We got off lucky with just a few minor things damaged.
Heard of 2 riding arenas gone down, grain bins gone, roofs and shingles gone.
Ugly.

A Rancher friend from Cheyenne emailed me that they had some purty good wind out west of town....

I replied,
The only wind break between Wyo and the Artic Circle is a three strand barbwire fence...

Dodge City KS only had a top measured wind of 61MPH. The real problem was the wind never let down-----gust-like velocities hour after hour.

My son is a USAF Lt. stationed at Warren AFB. Told me over the phone that it's windy there a lot. Yesterday much more so!
