Still no power

I can’t believe how the storms down here shut things down. Power has been off for a couple days.

Water is dripping now! It had stopped yesterday.

Sleeping bag and a few blankets. Got my buddy heater going. But turning it off before I go to sleep.

It’s 32 so not horrible last night was pretty chilly. Think it got down to 17. Thought I left this in Indiana.

Man, glad you figured out how to stay warm.  I know this is second nature for you, but wonder how are Texans brothers are doing.  I also feel for the elders who may not have a way to stay warm.

It’s interesting...we kind of watch in wonder with Texas struggling with this weather. Here in Wyoming, I’ve seen -40F for days, but of course...we’re prepared for that kind of weather. There are at least 3 very large oil refineries across the country that have shut down due to cold temperatures, but we continue to produce (still cold...however!).

This isn’t any cut on Texas (I like the state), but they might want to consider a minimum amount of winterization efforts on power plants and refineries just to sustain operations to at least 0F.

Some winters I work in the around Fort McMurray in the oilsands, and the only thing that ever shut them down was the massive bush fires a few years ago. One night in 2019, I was on night shift, at Suncor Forthills, and it was -51C before the windchill, and nothing shut down, everything kept working

Must of froze. I had them dripping and sink doors open. Who knows when a plumber can show up.

Get a couple Shark bites and some poly pipe to fill the busted part.
