Adjusting seating depth

Adjusting seating depth

Iím shooting a 300 Weatherby Mark V non brake, which has large jump and I have finalized my charge weight of H1000. The gun is shooting .7 moa at 100 which I think is pretty good for the amount of recoil, but Iíd like to try shrink this down to .5 by adjusting seating depth. I have Berger 215 hybrids loaded at mag length, how much should I adjust seating depth given the amount of jump already 50 thousandths?

I think I'd try several different primer brands at this point before I jacked with seating depth unless you've already done this.

Sorry... Yesterday was the last and final day for any and all complaints whatsoever.

I try to avoid temptation unless I can't resist it.

Everyone has a photographic memory. Some just don't have film.

That would be something to try. Iím using GM215M primers, but I donít have any other magnum primers to test. I do have federal 210m.

Man, inside an inch with no brake on a 300 weatherby and looking to shrink the group. Definitely out of my league. I can shrink them by up or down .01 grain ladder if they have a good brake.

I appreciate the feedback, I may be asking too much. After this season I plan on having treads and a brake installed. Reducing the recoil would help a lot.

I find it helps to shoot my groups @ 200 if my scope and the weather allows. Iíve had some tight groups at 100 grow quickly as I go out but a tight 200 seems to hold and track good. In your case Iíd recommend more of a target style brake that doesnít require timing since you are very good with recoil and theyíre not quite as obnoxious.
