270 Weatherby 100 gr.

Hey all,
I found some new older stock 270 Weatherby ammo with a 100 gr. PT-EX bullet? This is the gray box with orange writing. Not sure when this ammo was produced?
Does anyone have an idea of what bullet this might be and what the loaded muzzle velocity might be?

it would be made in the 80's, and it was loaded with the Hornady 100gr spire point bullet. According to an early 90's weatherby catalog I have, it states that ammo was loaded to a muzzle velocity of 3760 fps, and the BC of the bullet was 0.307. The ballistic's was 100 yards +2.3, 200 yards +3.0, 300 yards 0, 400 yards -7.6, 500 yards -21.0

It was basicly a varmint load, maybe small deer load.

I have some 110 ttsx loads from factory - they are smoking fast. Shot a couple whitetail with them I'd be curious to see how spire points hold together at those velocities! LOL

I have never tried the 100 gr PT-EX load, but I would imagine a lot of red mist on a coyote under 200 yards
