Moving
« on: October 20, 2021, 08:12:37 AM »
Have decided to move to SE Colorado. I was able to find a nice small house on the edge of a rural farming and ranching community.
Still have a deer hunt, opener for upland in Colorado and Kansas, and a 4th season elk hunt coming in November, but going to try to get moved in that time frame also. Good thing is traveling to hunt l can be moving in the same trip, 2 of the hunts are where l am moving too
Should be a interesting month 😎

Why are you moving Mike?  Are you selling your farm, downsizing, etc?  Oh yes, and good luck for a smooth move.

Now that we have our house like we want it, my wife wants to sell and move too.  She wants to sell the house, and buy some land here in GA and build a house on the property.  I like the idea, but price of land & homes is crazy right now.

Oscar: I moved to the front range for work mainly. It is nice here, but very busy, traffic, and the cost of living. I like the country life, and now that l am retired l am moving back to it.

Mark: l am lucky a friend has a 7x12 enclosed trailer and a taxidermist friend that lives a mile down the road, so with any luck l can get the mounts moved the 5 hours to the new place

There are plenty of Mule deer, White tail deer and elk for you to watch. I can't vouch for the lower cost of living but it sure can give you a lot of space to be away from idiots.

Ah, I understand now.  Good for you Mike, and congrats again!  If I'm ever in your neck of the woods, I'll let you know.  Wife wants to visit Colorado Springs. :)

I've thought a lot about a move like this. It would mean finding new doctors for me and a new vet for Andi as well. I wish you good luck on your new digs!   :)

I’m happy for you Mike, beautiful country in SE Colorado. Hope your move goes smoother than mine did! Does your new place have some acreage you can hunt on, or is it in town. If you weren’t 900 miles away I’d offer to help.

good luck on your new place Mike  8)  I can understand on wanting to live in the country, some years back I brought a house in the city, within 9 months I sold it, and the gf and I moved back to where we belonged. We both hated living in the city.
