Drought would have too and fires I'm not sure how quickly we recoup from that with continued hunting pressure. Only experience with that was in 2009 west Texas area with large ranch having to haul water as some wells ran dry just to water wildlife.

Some buddies of mine from Texas drew tags and hunting eastern Arizona, should have a report back next week. For them they will probably be in aww of the scenery! :) You guys are kind of spoiled with some pretty canvases! ;)

I have a side question - you guys that pack around carry pistol for protection? It legally allowed? Just curious as i read about bears and lions! :)

Az legal to own weapon residents 21 years and older  is open carry and also concealed carry.   we both carry concealed when hunting.  non-residents I don't know.

Sorry your Deer hunt didn't pan out as you had hoped. Hoping your Elk hunt has A better ending !!
