given a 28 inch barrel what velocity could you expect with the 200 to the 245 grain bullets ?thought this would be a great case for informal target shooting and long range hunting.

If I was going with the 30-378 and wanted a longer barrel I'd go with a 30 incher.That's what Weatherby's test rifle had on it back in the 50's when he was testing that cartridge/caliber combination.
