Anyone have success with the 6.5x300 and 140 gr grand slams on deer size game ?

I don't see why they wouldn't be fine,  I have never tried the 140 in any of the 6.5's, but I did use the 130 gr grand slams in the 270 Wby @ 3400+ fps one year, and it worked fine on a mule deer. Rarely find speer bullets around here anymore.

Hlwdy there!  I've been using the Grand Slams out of my 6.5 300 for a while now.   160gr though and they shoot 1/2 MOA and work perfect on elk.   I'm 100% sure the 140's would be awesome for deer sized game.

I didn't know that speer made 160's in 264 cal.

Mine shoots the factory 140 swift AF very well, I would suspect similar results loaded up with the GS - should be tough enough to handle the velocity of the 6.5-300.

Personally prefer the 130 scricoccos in mine for long range -

You might try the Barnes LRX 127 grain. I've been loading them in my .260 AI and had had real good luck. You may also try the Hammer Hunter, those shoot like a match bullet.
