For my .378 and .460 Wea Mag MkV Deluxe Rifles I use the Tasco 1.5X to 5X EXP 4-plex variable scope which is no longer in production.

On my .220 Swift MkV SVM Rifle and on my .30-06 Spgfld, .257 Wea Mag, .300 Wea Mag, .30-378 Wea Mag and .338-378 Wea Mag MkV Accumark Rifles I use the Leopold 45X target competition fine crosshair scope.

If I ever get the .22LR Mk XXII Deluxe bolt action I will probably try to put the same Leopold 45X scope on it.

At the moment im in process of putting together several rifle packages for work. The scopes i am fitting are allways Zeiss the most popular being a straight 1" tube 6x42 but personally i like the 8x56 1" tube. I find that zeiss make probably the best scopes out there like them more than your scmidt and benders and swavoski scopes. I will try and post some pics of them on my gun room.

3.5X10x50 VX-III on the .243 Synthetic and VX-L 3.5X10X50 on the .340 Accumark. The difference in scope height between the two 50s is incredible. The VX-III is on high mounts, the VX-L on lows. I would have considered a German/Austrian scope, but the VX-L truly does break the rules as only an American company can.

I have also used Nikon and Burris scopes. If I were pinching pennies, I would go with the Nikon.

My VX-III survived a fall better than either myself or my .243 MKV. The MKV had to go to the shop to fix a broken safety. The bolt would not stay down after I fell on it and forced it open.. The factory authorized shop that fixed my MKV said the only other time they had seen this type of damage was when the stock was broken as well. My synthetic stock didn’t break, but it does have some beauty marks ;) The VX-III is has matching beauty marks. I used a sharpie to blacken the aluminum that was exposed. I had to file the rim of ocular lens because the gouges were so deep. Did I mention it retained zero perfectly and no glass was broken? I was out of the hunt as I hyper extended my left knee. I attempted to go out the next day, but used my MKV as a crutch when my knee froze up.

Weatherby and Leopold, what a combo.

I shoot a Weatherby Mark 5 30.06 topped with a Weatherby Premiere 3x-9x40. To show you how times have changed I received the rifle and scope combo from a bank in Kentucky when I opened an account with the bank. I got the 30.06 and a 300 both with Weatherby scopes. I use the 30.06 every year for hunting while the 300 and the other scope are still in the box brand new. Must have gotten these 20years ago or so.

Weathery's not only have heavy recoil energy, they have fast recoil velocity- they can be scope killers.  Good choices are Leupold, Burris, Nikon. Avoid European anything. Power?  If your young with keen eyes, 3-9x40.  Otherwise go for more power.  4-12 or 4.5-14 etc. All Weathery calibers are capable of good long range performance.

I agree with you on the Bushnell Elite 3200.  I have a 1.5-4.5x32 on my 375 H&H and it holds up great.  I think it is way better than it's price.  Of course it is the same as the old Baush & Lomb line that Bushnell bought out.

Currently my 257LM wears a 4x16 Nikon UCC. I do like Nikon, but I have a Meopta Meostar 3x12x56 30mm 4D on layaway and hope to pick it up tomorrow or Sunday. The clarity of the Meopta bested the Luepold VX-7 and is 1/2 the price. Plus I really like the 4D reticle (it's a version of the German 4C).
Our buck season is exactly 1 month away. I called the farmer that grants us hunting privileges last night and he still has 5 bucks running together...so it's safe to say the archers probably won't score on one between now and then.
This will be my primary hunting rifle...and I couldn't ask for more!

On my Weatherby vangaurd 30-06 I use a Barska 6.5 - 20 x 50 mm w/ target dot reticle. Really enjoy it, and very versable from hjunting in thick NE Texas timber one moment to turn the corner and have a open grassland with a possible 300 yd shot, it "cuts the musterd!"  especially with my eyes not what they used to be and don't necasarly have tocarry a binocks with me.  O well it works for me.  ;) 8)

I have a Vanguard Sub-Moa in 30.06 and it is topped with a 3 x 12 x 42 Nikon Monarch with the BDC reticle. It is bright, crisp and the side focus can double as a range finder. It shoots great and looks good

On my .270 Vanguard VGX I have an old Redfield 3x9.  On my Dad's 30-06 Mark V he has a Weatherby Supreme 3x9, and on his .300 Weatheryby Mag Mark V he has a 3x9 Leupold as does my Brother on his Stainless Mark V .340.  On my baby, my .338-.378 Acumark I have a 4x12 Leupold with AO.  I want to get a Shepard to try out and compare it to the Leupold on the baby to see which works better at longer ranges.
Nothing is better than a Weatherby, big bore magnum, or a Colt.
