Dadgumit your serial# does not match with any of my refference charts. Your serial# should start with a v. You might want to call weatherby for more info.

That German Custom Shop 240 Weatherby could not have been manufactured in 1960. The 240 Weatherby Magnum cartridge was'nt introduced until 1968 ???

Well i picked up a made in japan  300wm mark V deluxe from a friend of mine. It came with the original box of shells he purchased with the gun. The price on the box of ammo  was $28 and there was a tiger on the box. It also had a weatherby scope on it. The serial # on the gun is H120923. I am thinking late 60's or early 70's. I paid for it used what he claims he paid for the whole package new $650. I think I got a good deal.
thx Travis

Peymor,

I am very curious about your rifle that you state is from 1946.  Can you tell us what the serial number is on that rifle? There are some oddities about the rifle that the serial number might give some clarity to.

Thanks,

I inherited a 1948. 300 that has seen many a Midnight Sun in Alaska. and shows it and a 1952 30-06 both of these are pre MK V and have been heavily used. The still shoot great but I retired them for newer MK Vs over the years...Pictures to follow later.

Over what period of years were Mk V Deluxe marked as Southgate CA but made in Japan.  I have a 300 Wby with a 24" barrel that I know is older but I want to find how much so.
