Yes, the first day out was dismal. I should have known better, but light loads were not only not ejecting, but were sticking so hard in the chamber that they needed to be pushed out with a rod through the barrel. After a bit of diagnosing it appears that the shell would fire, the extractor would be ripped off the edge of the base of the hull, would travel rearward at least enough to recock the hammer, and then return and slam so hard onto the back of the already fired hull that it would stick incredibly tight in the chamber. Light load piston, 1 oz. loads.
Next day 3" turkey loads with the heavy load piston ejected, fed, and were about as perfect as could be. Interestingly though the gun will still not eject 3" steel Waterfowl loads. Load must still be too light, or firearm not "broken in" enough. Annoyingly "breaking in" could also be described as "wear". Something we usually avoid in both firearms and shoes.
