Did you see where Weatherby is sponsoring a new video contest. You create a video that says "Why I Want a Weatherby" and the top 50 videos will be judged by members of Weatherby Nation. The winner gets to fly to the Weatherby factory and meet Ed Weatherby and build his own Weatherby rifle! They are also giving away other rifles and shotguns to the top vote-getters. Sounds like something fun worth taking a shot at...guess I'll have to dig out the old video camera and do my best Scorsese.

I may have to pick up a video camera for this. It sounds like it could be entertaining. Unfortunately I have no video camera experience, no camera, and very little time, so I guess that increases the odds of YOU winning the rifle. However, my little pea-brain has both of its remaining brain cells trying vigorously to prove my "want for a Weatherby" is better than yours. Let the contest begin!

I too, have no fancy video camera. However, my cell phone allows me to record video. I imagine as long as the videos are creative and well stated, it doesn't matter how we film them.

Looks like there are only a few submissions so far. I better get started or those guys might just end up taking all the prizes. The prizes are far too good to sit back and be shy. Sounds like a lot of fun.

Why I want a Weatherby...hmm...

We really are looking forward to seeing your videos.  Don't worry about the quality of the production, just tell us your story.  I always here people say they always wanted a Weatherby.  Here is a chance to tell us why you always wanted one.

To Ed Weatherby;

I regret that I was unable to add a video to your contest. Lack of a camera and talent are the real reason. It certainly was not a lack of desire.

I have loved Weatherby rifles since I first laid eyes on my first Weatherby catalog and have ben lucky enough to have owned two Mark V rifles. I am truly sorry that I could not enter your contest, but I wanted you to know that I thought of it frequently and think it was a great idea. I hope it was very successful for you and that you will do it again next year.

We look to be not alone.  My video is also 2:01 on the website.  I double checked my length before I submitted it and it was 2:00.  I hope that since it was excepted we won't be disqualified.

I entered the contest with my video on 12/30 at about 11:00pm est.  I got the screen that said my submission was accepted and I should get an email, but I never got the email and my video is not included.  It was titled: "5 Good Reasons".
Can anybody tell me why my video was not included?

I posted my video on 12-29 at 5:50ish PM.  Mine also has not shown up.  I hope mine got accepted since it was 2 days and 5.5 hours before the deadline.  I notice one video showed up at 1am on the 1st of Jan which should have been after the dealine.

I entered my video on 12/30 and it never appeared so I entered it again later on that day and it never appeared either.  Both times the website never confirmed receiving it and it just kept saying it was uploading.  I hope I got it in because, well because I want a Weatherby!

Thanks to all of have submitted a video.  Before each video is posted on the web it is reviewed to be sure it is appropriate ETC.  I imagine that part of the reason for the delay is cause of the holiday.  They may not be posted until early next week.  I don't know this for a fact but just guessing that is what the delay is.

Also many of you may have noticed that the videos aren't up on the website at this time.  I am assured they will be back up for voting early next week.

Thank you, Ed.  I figured it was something like that, so I didn't want to get my knickers in a twist.  I appreciate your reply.

How will the voting work?  I have the link to the contest, but there is no easy to find link on the main page or in the spike camp categories.  Will a link off the home page be added on the 15th, or off the spike camp page?  How will non participants find the videos to vote?
