Since I was so impressed with Elijah Craig bourbon I decided to try their rye. Great choice!

Nice. I picked up a bottle of 10 year old Whistle pig rye the other day. It’s some good stuff as well.

Whistle Pig is too expensive and I find the Elijah Craig rye better, just my opinion. It's 2 different tastes, BMR. Most pepole drink the same thing time after time. I don't.  I usually drink whiskey over ice, no mixers.  ;D

Since I'm a fan of Jim Beams Knob Creek Burbon I also tried and like their single barrel Rye.
I may have to try the Elija Craig rye but would prefer it to be 100proof or higher.

BM the different flavors in good Burbon are very distinct and when drank either at room temperature or over ice it brings those flavors out. Depending on my mood I will drink it either way but find room temperature to reveal the best qualities.  Take a sip and let it roll around on your Tonge and you will know what I'm saying.
I drink to enjoy the flavors the whiskey has to offer, mix it with soda or in a cocktail and you lose the flavors.

I like the Knob Creek as well. Evan Williams single barrel is good too I do try different brands. I enjoy Irish and Canadian whiskey too. Vodka, gin and tequila I do make make martinis with.  Tito is my usual vodka.  Patron tequila and Tanqueray No10 gin round out my usual choices. No scotch for me!  I tried the Japanse whiskey and was not impressed, expensive as well. ;D

I like beer.  ;D

So do I, but beer is terrible for my blood sugar, being a diabetic. Whiskey, for some unkown reason, affects ir a lot less.  ;D

I would think it's the carbs in beer. Gin actually lowers my blood sugar.   ;D
