No it's not a gun. But she has wanted a Amish quilt for a long time and I knew where to find them from my travels threw PA Amish country.

Very nice quilt, I'm sure she's gonna love it. Wonder if the star burst design on the quilt is a random design? (no new rifle under the bed? just kidding :)) Most of us could take a cue from you and surprise our wives with a gift every once in a while. Except Bad!

Going on 50yrs with the same woman hasn't always been easy but it took both of us to make it work.
I let her pick out the one she wanted to make it that more special.
New gun under the bed will maybe but only new to me. A Winchester M70 New Haven era 300wm. It is one of those that came in the cheap plastic stock which I replaced and got the bottom metal and large mag box to lengthen it out to seat the bullets longer then Saami.
I still have more in the quilt then I do in the rifle so she came out ahead on that deal and she's happy so that's all that matters.

Your right there Chris and it would have cost twice as much.
BB340 yeah I'm a softy when it comes to the wife but we have been threw hell and back together and I can't do enough for her since she stands beside me threw thick and thin.

TD, really cool what you did. It’s obvious you put thought behind that gift too. A lot of the times knowing that is 50 times more special to the gift recipient than the gift itself.... of course it never hurts when the gift is also something they really want like the situation here. Thanks for sharing!

Cool quilt. My mother in law made us one with a similar star pattern for our wedding. It has over 1100 diamond shaped pieces. They are so much work! I'm sure your wife will love it!

Petey That is a nice looking quilt also and I'm sure your wife treasures it.
It's amazing how they can sew all those pieces together and you can't see a seam. I have no idea how many pieces it took to fill out the one my wife bought.

Wow Petey. My sister in law quilts and I always marvel at how much skill it takes, and TIME. People ask how many hours does that take and the quilters reply in months, or more.

Not intentionally, just sometimes you need to show your appreciation for all they do for us.
Some guys by them jewelry and others buy them cars. Me I was cheap and and let her pick out something she has wanted for a long time and knew where to get the best deal. ;D
