« on: June 21, 2019, 11:13:43 AM »I'll be trying these out in my .257 next deer season, but I can't help but wonder why Hornady down-loads the .257 Wby Mag (as compared to Weatherby factory loads)?
I'm hopeful that soon there will be a hunting bullet with a G1 BC in the .5XX range, which would really help us out at the longer ranges.
The limiting factor is the 1 in 10" twist. There are custom bullet makers like Blackjack bullets that make high BC bullets. They do require a 1 in 8" to 1 in 7" twist to shoot them. It will put the 257 in the same group as the 6.5mm based cartridges.
