Anybody happen to catch the latest episode of a wounded warrior hunt in New Mexico?  The hunter used the guides rifle which was a mark V and took a great elk with one shot.  The elk went straight down without a twitch.

Best part of the show however was the soldiers story he was one of the survivors of the Fort Hood shooting.  Pretty emotional episode, even the guide was pretty wrapped up in the moment.  Have to hand it to the producers of this show for airing it.

A few months back I bought a .300 Weatherby Accumark (my first) and other then a couple sight in sessions, last Friday was my first time seriously trying to see how accurate it was.  All I can say is I'm very impressed.

My best group came with factory 180 grain partitions.  With this I got a 1/2 inch group.  I haven't tried all the different factory loadings, nor have I reloaded for this rifle yet.  But if this were I'm starting out, I'm very impressed.  The rifle handled very well and I'm looking forward to the coming black bear season.
