Around the Campfire (General Discussion) / Weatherby Backcountry.
« on: November 16, 2019, 06:50:21 AM »
My Backcountry arrived at my dealer this week. I went with the 6.5-300 over the 7mm only because it was a better deal. The fit and finish is awesome and it’s super lightweight. Can’t wait to get it setup with leupold dual dovetail mounts and VX5HD scope.

Around the Campfire (General Discussion) / 6.5-300 or 7mm wby mag.

Going to be using my Terramark for PA rifle season this year in 7mm wby mag. Highly considering trading it off after this hunting season for the New Mark V Backcountry (wanting to shed some weight) in either 6.5-300 or 7mm wby mag. Now I already have 243,270,and 30-06, but I want a one size fits all for my go to rifle. My main hunting is whitetail and black bear, with possible pronghorn, mule deer, and elk hunts in the future. What would you choose and why?

Thanks

Rifles / New Mark V CarbonMark
« on: September 04, 2019, 02:37:20 PM »
Really like the Looks of the new CarbonMark (like the price too compared to the out going model). I was hoping someone could confirm if the barrel is free floated or not? I would assume so, but want to make sure. Really considering trading my Terramark in 7mm wby for one in 6.5 wby rpm or 6.5-300, Kind of like the idea of the 6lug action saving 1lb of weight. Let me know what everyone thinks.

Thanks

Around the Campfire (General Discussion) / New Terramark

Sold my Accumark a couple months and felt lost without it. So after much debate I put a Terramark in 270 weatherby on layaway. Plan to put a leupold Vx6hd 3-18x44 on it. Hopefully get it to shoot 130 Barnes TTSX for deer and elk. All in time for the upcoming deer season in PA.

Hello everyone. Last winter I bought an Accumark in 270 weatherby and like a fool I let it go and now I need to replace it for the upcoming deer season. I am stuck between getting the 270 again or going with the 257 weatherby in an Accumark. My primary use will be woodchucks, coyotes, deer, and black bear. I would like to go elk hunting one day, but that’s down the road and maybe a different rifle. What’s everyone’s thoughts?

Thanks

Been doing some think about the 6.5 Creedmoor. Thinking I need a do all rifle for ground hogs to whitetail and getting my feet wet in some long range shooting. Thinking either and Accumark or Range Certifed Accumark. Is the RC worth the extra money? Just looking for opinions on this setup.

Thanks
