I purchased a Weatherby Backcountry 2.0 in 308 win ( standard model) a couple of years ago ... First off I love the weight , it really is a lighweight rifle , mine comes in at a hair under 6 pounds with a mounted scope. Trigger is good and really easy to adjust . I like mine at 2 to 2.5 lbs and was able to set it very easy. No creep as well. Stock feels good and is easy to move thru the steep timber that I like to hunt. However.. Accuracy isn't particularly great, getting about 1.5'+ groups at 100 yards using premium factory ammo. Good enough for hunting but I can get better with my old $500 Rem Mtn rifle, which also has a great trigger although harder to adjust . This year deer hunting the bolt seemed really sticky , although it got better back home after oiling. Dont know if its a Weahtherby thing - but there has always been a catch as I lift the bolt, like its topped out , but thats only about 70% of the throw- have to power thru that to get to completley free the bolt. Not a problem when adrenaline is high shooting at a deer but annoying most of the time. Also noticed this year that some of the Cerkote finish is coming off where it rubs on the action, maybe this is a normal thing with Cerekote rifles- first one I've had. All in all I enjoy the rifle but I was expecting better from a rifle costing over $2500 .
