I have a Rem 700 ADL that has never been worked on or anything.  I had two AD one while hunting, as soon as I disengaged the safety it fired.  The other was at the range, and it happened when I closed the bolt.  Rifle has been sitting in the safe since.  I've been thinking of getting a Timney trigger to get it back to business.

For some reason, I feel the weather is going to change early this year. Maybe the birds feel it too.

I'm with you on this.  Last week in Aug we had some Fall type weather, and this week, we've had Fall weather all week.  Which normally we would be sweating our a$$es off with high temps and high humidity.  I'm good with some cooler weather.  :)

The little guys are still here, but now they are fighting over which bird controls the feeder.  LOL!

Terrible news, and sad for the parents of the kids killed.  From what I've read today, seems like the mom was a whacko, drunk, druggie, and seems like the father was a loner.  They didn't interact with the neighbors at all.  I wonder what the motives were.  Another excuse Kamala will use to come after our guns.   >:(

This place is between Atlanta and Athens, about 3 hours away from where I live.

My favorite birds are birds of prey, followed closely by the hummingbird.  ;D

Always like Clint's movies. Josie Wales is a favorite: "Are you gonna pull those pistols or whistle Dixie?"

Great movie, with great one liner.

Our elected officials should be subject to the same strict set of rules, background checks and periodic investigations, just like we were subject in the military.  Last time I went to South Africa I had to be cleared by my Security Manager, and I had to fill out a form with detail description of where I was going and for how long.  Once I came back, I had to fill out the back side of the form and describe if I had any probing by foreign nationals.  These elected officials travel all over the world, and in the case of Walts all over China without any consequences.  It boggles my mind when I read some of the stuff this idiot has done, and he is running for VP.  SMH.

The small town where I live in Middle Georgia had a population of about 40K, I believe it has double that.  The number of houses and traffic around town is getting stupid.  I'm not sure where all these new people work at, the base only has so many openings.  I guess Amazon, Tractor Supply, Academy, etc, are all opening distribution centers, and I guess that is bringing the people in.  I still get deer in my back yard, and my wife feeds them every night.   :D

Those types of charging handles (various designs) have deflection channels in them to direct gasses sideways as opposed to directly back to the shooter's face. My biggest concern with over-gassing is driving the bolt carrier group back too hard (which literally beats the crap out of it, shortening its life significantly).

If you are shooting 1000s of rounds, maybe.   However, if anything is going to get beat up is the buffer, the bolt carrier was designed to take the abuse.

Yes they are, I have not done anything with them.  BTW, there are charging handles to use with suppressed ARs.  I'm using Bravo Company charging handles, and I'm not sure if that is why I don't get blasted with gas or not.

It is scary to see how many blind stupid people are in our country and can't see the path we are heading into and how bad the economy is.  If those two clowns from the left win, we will not have a country in 4 years, and it will take a lifetime to fix what they did.

My wife has been hinting the past week or two that she just might be saving to get me a suppressor for my AR this Christmas. I just looked into the possibility, but I don't think so. You can find basic baffle ones in the $650-$850 range, but then the rifle will be way over-gassed and you have to buy an adjustable bolt carrier group ($200) and possibly a heavier buffer system, or alternatively, install an adjustable gas block (pain in the ass and you have to re-tune it for different ammo). You can skip these things by getting a flow through design suppressor, but those start around 1200 bucks from what I've seen. Either way, by the time you're done, with $200 Federal stamp, not to mention state tax (up to another 100 bucks), I could be out $1500 by the time it's all done. I'm thinking, no thanks. Suppressors are such a "bend over and spread 'em" racket.

Tex, I bought a Razor by Rugged Suppressors, and I thought I was going to get a face full of gas, and that was not the case.  I bought a 30 Cal, and bought different adapters for 556 all the way to 308, and it's easy to switch from one rifle to another.  They are full auto rated and lifetime warranty. Now that I have it, I'm glad I bought it.

Ever since the permit went digital, the process has been faster now.  I'd gladly pay the $200 if I could walk home with one out of the store.

Be careful what you ask for, PARA45!   ;D

Yesterday was a rather breezy day, with constant rain.  Temperature most of the day was in the mid 70s, it was a nice day considering the cloud coverage and rain.  This morning is dry so far, breeze is coming from the Northeast and it feels good.

I have a Wheeler scope mounting kit, and it has a torque wrench.  I've always torqued the screws to the manufacturer recommendations.  No problems on any of my scopes/rifles.

It/s coming our way as a tropical storm.  We've been b*tching about not enough rain  ;D
