Think someone showed a picture where a magazine was talking about the new round which was a 6.5 that’s similar to a creedmore.......

So Weatherby entered the 6.5 creed market.

The 7mm Rem is a great round!! Something about the 270cal I like as an all around, also the 270wsm would be a good idea

The 270Weatherby would be my pick if recoil May be an issue and elk are in equation, not saying a 25bee can’t take Elk, but would prefer the heavier bullets.

I plan on starting low and working up till I start seeing pressure signs and then backing it down and I plan on keeping track of which group is best and then really start fine tuning that.

Yes they are great on White Tails!!!! As far as Elk I have no doubt the 180s will do fine at those ranges. Shot placement is always important! I used the 180s to sight in my 300weatherby and they shot really well and are very reasonably priced!! I will be shooting 200.20 gr bergers once I get a place to set up all my reloading!

I have not! I have shot 300 Weatherby, 300 WSM, 300 RUM. I have always wanted a 30-378 and as I have gotten older I have started wanting a 338 cal. I have settled on a 338-378. This is a dream gun build that will have the following components.

Mark V donor action
McMillan Adj Game Warden stock
27” Hart #5 contour barrel with flutes
VX5HD 3-15x56 Leupold
Leupold mounts/Rings

I will be adding a bipod and will probably be swapping over to a pic rail and rings, Leupolds

Will have a muzzle break, not 100% sold on which one but it will be a Vias(Radial), which Hart uses, or one of the Beast breaks which I am kinda leaning towards.

Will finish my build next summer, having to build in stages, all I have left is the barrel and putting it all together which I will have Mr Jim Hart do the work!

If anyone can help me figure this out, is the 338-378 able to push a 300gr pill over 2900 with out killing your brass out of a 27” tube? Seeing mid 2800s in the reloading guides but just wondering if you could push it a lil more and still get 4ish reloads out of a brass. I am ignorant to a lot and fairly new to reloading. I do not have a 338-378 but contemplating between one and a 30-378

I was concerned about this, until I did a lot of research on how they have done on the longrangehunting forums, have a ton of pics and such on how they do on game. But I am also looking hard at the Hammer all copper bullets, they have a 196gr designed for a 1:10 twist that I am also interested in and will probably be purchasing some as well. I also picked up some H1000 powder also.

Custom Shop / Custom shop contact
« on: July 21, 2019, 07:44:39 AM »
Hello! I have tried to reach the Weatherby Custom shop to purchase a new extractor for my 300roy, I want to upgrade to the 378 extractor so I can decide which I want to rebarrel to, 338-378, 30-378, 300 Norma, or 338 Norma.....

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue, is it because of the relocation and do y’all have a better way of contacting them!

Thanks in advance!

I am not sure about the 7-378....I mean the 30-378 is a massive overbore so kicking to an even smaller diameter pill would be way up there on diminishing return, I mean, I don’t mind a lil in-efficient but that would probably more then even I would think viable. Now a lil hotter 338......now we are talking lol
