You do sound happy. I admit I jumped to conclusions when I read they were sending bullets to weatherby( they didn’t say it was a sample)I like both companies and wouldn’t be ashamed of being affiliated with either one. If they can achieve 1-300 fps more velocity, very good accuracy and bullet performance, Im excited for them! As far as me yapping, im in western Washington and you are welcome to come and visit anytime!

You might take a look at the 152 absolutes for the 30-06. Can’t remember the exact speed gains or what powder but it’s crazy. Definitely worth investigating

They sure are getting some huge gains with the absolutes in the 308 cartridge but those are definitely pointy. I’ve been tempted to try some 199’s in my 300 prc but just can’t afford the primers. Been hearing some guys running the 300 weatherby with a little more freebore and a faster twist gaining some speed. It will sure be interesting to see what weatherby ends up with

I read they were testing some lever action bullets in Africa but I don’t remember the size.

Definitely sucks when one of my gizmos battery dies lol. Definitely helps to have a good idea of drop and windage and some trigger time to proof.

I use the Hornady 4dof a lot. It somehow calculates the angle of the barrel with your distance and ballistics and is usually pretty close even if just choosing a similar bullet most of the time. Quick to use and doesn’t cost anything.

Also less throat erosion because less bearing surface. No copper fowling

There definitely is. 73 ah is running between 3800 and 4050 in 22 creed with rl26. Don’t have to worry about the jackets and guys are saying incredible performance on game. Look at smaller than normal for twist seems to be the best route so far.

Well said. I think shooting angle is the hugest problem with the dials. I just finished setting up one for a friend and it’s perfect for him. He sits in a blind and is always at the same angle pretty much. But for the guy who thinks he’s going to even come close shooting up or down a hill. Nope. Not even close.

For anyone curious, they’re (hammer bullets) extremely good about answering any questions and don’t mess around about getting an order shipped. Really good folks to do business with. They’ve been growing like a weed and somehow able to keep up. They’re very easy to tune but less to do with seating pressure by design. A .01 ladder up or down from desired coal and velocity seems to bring a group together really quick. This is from  my experience

I don’t think it would make a huge difference for me in accuracy but it would be pretty sweet for spotting misses. I’d venture with a decent scope you could watch the vapor trail.

Your turret should be fine. I’m finishing a 300 weatherby and will be sending in for one as well. Even if it’s of by 50fps it’s probably only going to be off a couple inches @500 yards. I use a big piece of white cardboard and make a cross with some black tape and measure the drop or do a holdover. This is about as far out as I feel comfortable about my vertical and still gives me what I need for correction. I like the v3 since I do most of my load work up at the range and it’s pretty accurate. It definitely changes poi and it loosens up on some contour barrels but it tells me what I need to know.

I’d shoot just a couple rounds at distance to be sure. 2 @ 500 would let you know. Measure and use a holdover

It’s been tough to get the speed gains with some of the weatherby’s with the absolutes. Maybe 100fps with the 300 from what I hear. It will be interesting to see what they can do. I’m afraid to see what they do with the 6.5 rpm as I suspect it will be very good and tempt me to buy one
