Here in CT we are a bit too close to the war zone, but as of today there are 18 cases in our town of 60,000.  The kids have been learning online since March 13 with no end in sight.  The wife is a teacher in town so she is doing the online teaching for high school math. 

I have stocked freezers and pantry (which isn't any different than any other non pandemic day) so we don't have to go anywhere and can eat for months.  The weather is starting to warm up so I'm working on my garden and I keep bees and chickens.  I'm blessed to have a great family and we all exist well together and go for daily walks, have family meals and play board games.

I hope everyone else is well and if anyone decides to coordinate a Nation Hangout, I'd be happy to log in. 

CT has a bird stocking program.  I know some old timers that follow the stocking truck around all season.

My club stocks its own pheasants.  We used to have a big family hunt and my girls have gone with me several times, and were old enough to actually hunt the past few times.  Unfortunately I don't have a dog so I have to rely on going out with other hunters which is why the club was alway fun.  I've been going out with some of the old guys in the club (mostly because they worry me) for the past 15 years or so and it's a good time hearing their stories and we never go home empty handed.

Lately though I just don't find a thrill in stocking a dozen birds and then an hour or two later going to where you stocked them and shooting them.  We tried planting grass and cover and food for them, but they never stay on our property, and the ones that do get taken out by coyotes.

 With that post we expected that we would get the news just like the other forums that are posted on.
 

We had heard this several times over the years 11 years I've been on this site.  I even suggested using software that automates posting to several platforms at once.  At work I used software that posts simultaneously to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, or home page, our blog and several other sites.  We set up our communications a week in advance and everyone was included.  It looks like this page will continue to be a great place to hang out with other Weatherby fans.

At this point, since I cannot get a paper catalog sent to me and the blog page that I visit several times a week will not include any company or new product information, I think my time on this blog has run its course.  I'm not a FB follower because the comments are pointless.  The real discussions are here but we will still need to get our news elsewhere first.  That's too bad. 

Thanks you Weatherby for making great rifles.  I'm still a fan, but only from afar these days.  I get emails, mail, catalogs etc. from a hundred other firearms and outdoor activity manufacturers.  If I have to go seek out information on new Weatherby products, I'm just going to continue be in the dark.

Petey, where does your wife work that you're looking for a place in just a wide variety of states?  I live in Pennsylvania and there's some reasonably priced places near me and then there's some that make you wonder who they think could afford the prices they're asking.

I'm looking to pick up a second house outside of CT.  We are looking within 3-4 hours of our current house so we can take off for long weekends or the summer.  My wife is a teacher, so we are rooted in town during the school year, but they get lots of vacations and long weekends.  I was hoping to pick up some acreage and a decent house that we can either retire to or sell for another source of funds when I move in with Roger.     My sister in law also lives in the finger lakes, so central/northern PA would be closer to her (lucky me!!   )

What Weatherby needs is a 'man in the field' on the east coast.  Someone who understands social media, website content, customer engagement, marketing and is an avid Weatherby fan.
Wait, I got laid off in May an I'm still looking for a job.  I just might be your man!!    Maybe I should fly out to Wyoming for a factory tour and to sign some employment papers.

Glad you got it shooting well.  I've never had a problem when using the Talley rings.  If you experiment with different brands of ammo or if you handload, that 1.5 inches will come way down.
