Rifles / Re: What do you think the new wby round is
« on: November 26, 2021, 08:28:38 AM »
I would like to see a 25 cal rpm with an 8 wrist barrel along with a 270 and 7mm rpm wth an 8twist or offer the old chamberings with tight twist barrels to take advantage of new high bc bullete

I bought my wife the camilla light weight for Christmas and have tried the factory ammo offerings as well as worked up some hand loads for 3 different bullets so far. I am impressed with its accuracy so far for such a light rifle and all of the factory ammo shoots sub MOA and very easy to work up hand loads for

The old Accubrake s work well but the new Accubrake st are not caliber specific (at least on my 6.5 rpm) the exit hole is a large dia. It does help a little but not a lot

I haven’t used the fat bastard but have the little bastard and a micro bastard and they are probably the most effective brake I have ever used

Try vv n-560 work up slowly to around 69 grains has worked well in two different rifles so far . Seat bullets out to where they just fit in your magazine

im thinking that will be a logical next step for sure have been contemplating doing one myself . but i opted to do a 270 by 300 in an 8 twist to utilize the new 170 berger . its at the smith right now and should be back here shortly

that load seems really hot for a berger manual load  (usualy on the cold side) our go to loaad with the 150 vld and h-1000 is around 72-72.5 grains and seated to mag length and as i recall that is still over berger max

My 6.5 Accumark hates the Lrx's......1.5" at 100.
Without much work I have the 140 VLds under an inch and the 143 Hornady Eld-x in the .3's at 3425 fps.
BEST out of the box gun I own.
what powder are you using with those two bullets ?
