I have several Leupolds, all at least 20 years old or older. I've noticed that the glass is not as good as the newer brands but that is just the advancing technology. I've been having fun shooting LR and I have been pruchasing several new scopes. For around the $1,000 range Leupold cannot compete. They offer no zero stops, limited FFP and matching turrets and reticles in that price range. So, I've been replacing optics with other mfg's and now have 3 Leupolds on the shelf that are backups or maybe something I can put on a budget rifle. I guess it is costs and labor but I am not going to spend my money on a product that I cannot use. So, sadly, unless things change Leupold has already gone out of business at my house.
