I'm assuming the OP meant he only tried one bullet type of ammo. At least that's how I took it...

I agree with eford.... You'd almost have to assume that. Other possibilities may be one of his closest friend(s) may have been gifted them in his memory. Would be nice to know where they ended up.

I'm thinking a drop mag model.

Beautiful country out there. Thanks for sharing... Congrats with the new location and wish you the best in the future.

Congrats on the new purchase. The BLR is a is a rifle I always thought I'd enjoy, but I'm so heavily stocked with Marlin lever actions that I'll probably never end up with one. I envisioned a BLR in 358 as a great option.

Congrats... You did very well.

Gotta agree with Tex.... Cant remember the last time I seen a company do that. Nice to see an organization today show sincere support and love for this country. Class act. Thank you very much Weatherby.

Semper Fi my friends....

GC... I had some similar experiences with a Wby Ultra model once. This one was a standard caliber 270 Win and it just wouldn't  break the 1.5" group mark at 100 yards, which we know should be an easy accomplishment for a 270. A friend suggested that I buy a Limbsavers Barrel Deresonator ring and give it a try. Low and behold, after a few different placements on the barrel for position, that rifle easily broke the .750" group consistently. It looked funky but it sure did work.

I've been looking at adding another 270 Roy to my collection but I got to tell you, the more I keep seeing the posts on the 6.5x300, the more interested I'm becoming in it.

Redneck... Nice looking rifle. This is the first of any models excluding the initial special runs, that I've seen that have been released with the Wyoming marked receivers. This is great news. Has the serial number prefix letters changes on the new Wyoming marked receivers?

Rifles / Re: Vanguard SA scope mounts, DNZ game reaper or Talleys ?
« on: June 01, 2019, 07:10:27 PM »
I'll cast a vote for the DNZ one piece mount setup. I have a couple rifles setup with the Talley's but most of mine wear the DNZ setup. I've had very good luck with them, never a problem and if you remove a scope later down the road, they dont mark your scope. Either should serve you well though.
