Hey Guys,

Yes it has been a long time - Unfortunately it takes a long time to get work done on rifles over here.
After a lot of consideration -  I went with a re-Barrel in 257-Roy
Alan Swan did a really nice job of recreating the original barrel profile and Bluing so the MK 5 looks very original.

I went with a 1 in 9 twist, as I have an eye on heavier projectiles - still waiting for the mythical 25 cal, 130 Grain ELDX from Hornady.

I am in the process of developing some loads and had some good results with 85 grain Nosler BTs and 117 Grain Hornady SST's. Managed to get some 3/4 MOA groups.

Still work to be done, but very happy with where things are going - nearly time to take it out into the field.

I am a huge quarter bore fan. I have a 25-06 Ackley that is nipping at the heals of a 257 Roy. I have a 7 twist barrel and sending the 131 BlackJack Ace @ 3250 with ease. I could care less if Hornady or anyone else ever comes out with a heavy 25 cal bullet as the Ace has done everything I need it to do. Hammer also makes a heavy 25 cal bullet that I have heard good things about. My next build will be a 257 Roy twisted to shoot the 131's.  A buddy went that route and couldnt be happier.

I may know of a camper about 2 1/2 hours north of Sinton. If I remember right it is a 16 or 17 model. It was bought to live in after Harvey while house was being rebuilt. It is a 5th wheel and around 38 ft I think. If interested send me a message and I can get some more info on it.

I have the BOG death grip and have no complaints so far. It is too heavy to pack around but for prairie dog hunts and stationary hunting it has done its job. I bought it for the kids to use in pop up blinds and they loved it also. I also have the regular bog pod with the adapter to put rifles on top. It isnt terrible. It is much lighter than the death grip. You will definitely get what you pay for and possibly a little more from them

I know it a different caliber but in my 25-06 Ackley I am using 61.1 gr of Retumbo and getting right around 3360 FPS. This is on a custom Savage build I did for my son. Retumbo was the fastest and most accurate for me. Just throwing that out there. I built the AI to chase the 257 B, and have an unlimited supply of brass.

Inch by inch they are trying to disarm us. It will not be one big gun grab. They will whittle away at it little by little.

I have had a couple of great dealings on Texas Gun Trader. Completed a great transaction last weekend as a matter of fact.

Don't discount the 6mm Creedmoor. It was designed similar to the 6.5 Creedmoor. They both shoot heavy for class bullets very well and have mild recoil.

The anti's band wagon is about to fill up again. Hopefully all of the common sense people can keep Trump for 4 more and we will buy ourselves at least that much longer. But it's never a bad idea to have too many AR's.  Too bad I lost all of my firearms in a freak boating accident in the Gulf of Mexico!

I have one in .270WSM and love the rifle. Tack driver is correct. Mine has the tan B&C stock with black spiderwebbing, what color did you get?

I have the exact same rifle and love it!
