My brother had like 5 rounds of this stuff left over after he sold his 257 (terrible decision by the way but he's a can man - there is such a thing as too sexy for him) but anyway - i recently acquired yet another 257, well it's for the wife it's right handed. The gun was custom redon over a standard mark v action new barrel job and oil finished stock made to look like a safari. Really cool i'll have to get better pics of the rifle, but i went and check it today and tried out the hammers. Not to shabby now i have to order some to be here before next weekend for opener! LOL Should be a hammer (pun intended) for her,

I read this on facebook, not sure if it all fact-checks out but boy talk about interesting. I've always said the dems have one thing we do not and they are aligned! That's why i don't vote for a single one never will until things change and don't expect that to happen in my lifetime:

Friends, it will take a miracle for Trump to win. There is just too much corruption. And when millions of Christians refuse to vote, they’re going to blindly help them do it, which is very sad. He must win so big that there’s no way they can rig it, and I still think they can. I’ll say it again. It’s going to take a miracle. As big of a miracle, if not more, as Roe being overturned.

My friend Kevin Pledger posted these facts about our corrupt government. It’s what Trump means when he says we must “drain the swamp.” He has been talking about them for years. It’s why they can and will do anything and everything to defeat him. They can’t let him win. Maybe these facts will help those of you on the fence or those not willing to vote at all. Everything stated here is 100% true. Look it up yourself. They’re counting on our ignorance, but we just can’t plead ignorance any longer.

Here you go:
“It’s all connected. It goes to principles and platforms, NOT personalities. Know who your voting for:
Part of the Democratic Swamp;
People should know who they're voting for with these facts. This is some pretty interesting stuff here.
YES, THE GOVERNOR OF MICHIGAN USED TO WORK FOR GEORGE SOROS.
YES, CALIF GOV. GAVIN NEWSOM IS NANCY PELOSI'S NEPHEW
YES, ADAM SHIFF'S SISTER IS MARRIED TO ONE OF GEORGE SOROS’ SONS.
YES, JOHN KERRY'S DAUGHTER IS MARRIED TO A MULLAH'S SON IN IRAN.
YES, HILLARY'S DAUGHTER CHELSEA IS MARRIED TO GEORGE SOROS' NEPHEW.
YES, ABC NEWS EXECUTIVE PRODUCER IAN CAMERON IS MARRIED TO SUSAN RICE, OBAMA'S FORMER NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER.
YES, CBS PRESIDENT DAVID RHODES IS THE BROTHER OF BEN RHODES, OBAMA'S DEPUTY NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER FOR STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS.
YES, ABC NEWS CORRESPONDENT CLAIRE SHIPMAN IS MARRIED TO JAY CARNEY, FORMER OBAMA WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY. YES, ABC NEWS AND UNIVISION REPORTER MATTHEW JAFFE IS MARRIED TO KATIE HOGAN, OBAMA'S FORMER DEPUTY PRESS SECRETARY
YES, ABC PRESIDENT BEN SHERWOOD IS THE BROTHER OF ELIZABETH SHERWOOD, OBAMA'S FORMER SPECIAL ADVISER.

YES, CNN VP VIRGINIA MOSELEY IS MARRIED TO TOM NIDES, FORMER HILLARY CLINTON'S DEPUTY SECRETARY.
THIS IS WHAT YOU CALL A "STACKED DECK". IF YOU HAD A HUNCH THE NEWS MEDIA WAS SOMEWHAT RIGGED AND YOU COULDN'T PUT YOUR FINGER ON IT, THIS MIGHT HELP YOU SOLVE THE PUZZLE.

Now you know why no one is investigated.They all have their hands in the cookie jar! You might remember James Comey who investigated the Clinton email scandal and the Clinton Foundation, and made the final decision to not recommend prosecution by the DOJ.

It turns out that the Clinton Foundation was audited by the law firm DLA Piper. One of the executives there was in charge of the Clinton Foundation audit. Who was it? Peter Comey, James Comey’s brother. Peter Comey held an executive position with the Washington law firm that did the audit of the Clinton foundation in 2015.

Peter Comey was officially DLA Piper “Senior Director of Real Estate Operations for the Americas,” in 2015 when the Clinton Foundation scandals first broke and Hillary was preparing her Presidential campaign.

Not only was DLA Piper, the firm where Comey’s brother worked involved in the audit of the Clinton Foundation, but according to the foundation’s donor records, DLA Piper has given between $50 - 100k to the Foundation.
It gets even cozier.

DLA Piper executive Douglas Emhoff is taking an extended leave of absence from the firm.
Who is Douglas Emhoff? He is the husband of KAMALA HARRIS! Just a coincidence?   Amazing if it is. You can't make this stuff up! And it only gets worse.

This "Family Tree" will make your head spin. THE SWAMP IS DEEP!!
Dominion (voting machine provider) serves 40% of the US market.   It is in 30 states - - The state of Texas rejected the machines.

Admiral Peter Neffenger is on Biden's transition team.
Neffenger was the President of the board of Smartmatic   - Smartmatic (another voting machine supplier) entered into an agreement with Dominion in 2009   - Smartmatic counted votes in Venezuela   - Smartmatic is connected to Philippine voter fraud. Smartmatic is run by Lord Mark Malloch Brown who works for George Soros (he and Brown are life-long friends). Brown chairs the Boards of a number of non-profit boards including the Open Society Foundation,  Brown chairs the Centre for Global Development.

Open society of course is owned by George Soros. Smartmatic partnered with DLA Piper Global   - Douglas C. Emhoff works at DLA Piper Global   - Douglass C. Emhoff is Kamala Harris's husband
Guess who owns Dominion? Blum Capital Partners, L.P.

Guess who is on the board for the company? Richard Blum.
Richard C. Blum is Dianne Feinstein's husband.
Nancy Pelosi's husband is also a major investor  An aide to Nancy Pelosi, Nadeam Elshami, was hired by Dominion Voting Systems. And it goes on. Dominion Voting Systems is listed on the Clinton Foundation website.

Dominion Voting is listed as a $25,000 -$50,000 donor to the Clinton Foundation in 2014 by The Washington Post.
Georgia Governor Kemp used Dominion Voting after Texas and Florida rejected them. Dominion has a lobbyist named Jared Thomas   - Jared Thomas was Governor Brian Kemp’s chief of staff and press secretary from 2012 to 2015.

You must remember the Feinstein-Kavanaugh-Soros connections to understand this next information:
Debra Katz (Christine Ford's lawyer) worked for George-Soros at the Open Society Foundation.   Debra Katz (Christine Ford's lawyer) also worked at Project on Government Oversight (POGO).   - POGO is funded by Soros’s Open Society Foundation. POGO is the co-signer of the letter Diane Feinstein presented against Kavanaugh's nomination.
Kamala Harris did not prosecute OneWest Bank for their fraud when she had the authority.
Soros owned OneWest Bank.

Now you know why a woman who placed 7th in own her State when running for President is now VP!   Oh what a tangled web of deceit and lies.”

Christians, please reconsider, you just can’t sit this one out.
*** check your ballots before you turn them in,because a lot of people that voted Trump has had NO president selected!!***

Reloading / Re: 270 WEATHERBY 7 TWIST
« on: October 23, 2024, 06:48:45 PM »
I shoot deer with a 130 grain scirocco running north of 3400fps out of the muzzle in a 24" rifle and it delivers with authority. Your twist might not shoot lighter bullets as well as heavies, but either way as has been mentioned it will still be extremely fast and deliver one hell of a punch.

I shoot 130's out of my 6.5-300 similar results, hit's light lightning;

270 is bad medicine as well,

if you fancy a load i'm gathering a load developed for a rifle i acquired for me wife that the previous owner was shooting 115 partitions which i have a lot of. I can share once i get it - some rifles are finicky with the 120's and 115 Barnes but if you can get any of those to work well for you they will achieve similar results i'm sure!

Congrats on a successful hunt;

I sent for a 5 mile job on sunday - training for a 10k we are doing on the beach in port aransas with our trail series second week of November and it was a crisp 52. Once the ole lungs got use to the cool air after about a mile it was smooth sailing.

I'm hoping the family will follow me later winter early spring to the same series in the davis mountains for a 10k. Old and thin air in terrain should be fun! LOL

Sure heats up on the afternoons, but the mornings are worth getting up to and watching the steam roll of the coffee cup!

« on: October 22, 2024, 04:09:38 AM »
I have several budget vortex/meopta/zeiss/swaros and Leopold's - i always felt I got my money's worth solid scopes. Ventured into the dial world and i'm a fan of VX5's and 6's definitely a step up in the quality. I've ventured into the higher end with a couple of swaro 6i's - I must admit the quality and clarity at distance and low light situations is real. Now worth it to the typical hunter? Probably not, I have some high end bino's leica and swaro EL these and a couple of scopes I justified selling some rare firearms that I was profitable on to justify buying most of this stuff at cost which was still expensive. I'm not disappointed I did especially with the binoculars I enjoy glassing as much as anything as I get older.

I almost bought a 6.5-06 ruger 1, was a real auction and i quit on it, always thought that to be a cool little dude. But I don't play around enough with loading so i backed out.

Bet that AI is a firecracker! I had a 6.5x284 ruger 1 back when finding ammo was like unobtanium guy drove 6 hours to buy it from me was his favorite caliber, sent me a picture later that season taking a muley several hundred yards away - lol some preach 1's aren't accurate - all of mine sure are.

as tom said depends on a few factors mostly condition and wood grain in the stock will play a factor - if it was a more desirable caliber like 240/257 are the most popular u could see those values double.

Allot of 300's online for sale you can do a little research and honestly stack yours up against them and see. Guns re-sales are cold right now most people looking for deals when couple years ago it was a sellers market. 300/7mm's for whatever reason do not get as much hype. I guess all the smart people already own one and everyone is jumping on band wagons with modern rifles chambered in prc's and rums - i pull my weatherby's out and the new kids look at me I have to remind them these calibers were hot decades before the new stuff you have lol ;)

Good luck with your sales,

Well my brother is taking his son back this year, i might book next year it was a fun trip. We will do our annual season, haven't seen much other than some up and coming but when the rut kicks in we have so many does you never know what can come in.

I've been to pre-occupied dreaming of killing rams! But yes definitely need to fill some slots lol

Man this thing is expect to be bad bad, we haven't even dealt with the last one and here comes this monster. Are you in it's path?

44
I have only shot hammers out of my 30-378 from factory wby and I can say that they are extemely accurate. I have plenty of loaded ammo for all my weatherbys. The ones that shoot partitions I have a stable of ammo most likely to last my wife and I a long time;
