She looks great and congratulations to the proud dad. Oh and you would be tired too if you had 12 pups ;D
What are you going to do with all the pups?

All but 3 or 4 are for sale as pups. The others l will start and sell as started dogs

I have had several with QR rings in the past. All had iron sights also. Wisconsin was one of the places l used them. You get snow that sticks to the trees and underbrush, getting in your scope. Iron sights are better in those conditions. It would zero well when putting the scope back on. When l was a kid you would see a lot of tip off mounts

Whitetail Deer / Re: 257 weatherby or 6.5x300

I’m still scratching my head as to why you bought the 6.5-300?  ???  ;D

Joking aside the .257 I’d my favorite, think you would enjoy one also

Rifles / Re: Why not the 7mm wby?
« on: November 04, 2024, 09:13:07 AM »
I have settled on a .257 and a 7mm Weatherby’s. If l need more bullet weight than the 257 has l use the 168 LRX in the 7mm. Anything in NA

I have used the high shoulder shot a lot. I have found if you aim for the bottom front edge of the shoulder blade where the spine dips down. It is instant lights out. Also fairly easy to high front angles. Not just broadside

I thought there was some along the River bottoms

Some, mostly in eastern Wyoming. State wide mule deer have about a 4 to 1 numerical advantage over whitetails. Where I live the ratio is probably closer to 15 or 20 to one.

I haven’t been by you. Hunted from Sheridan down to, Baggs and east. Was surprised to see how many whitetail there was there and how many tags there is available.
Just returned from a trip to Montana, went through Douglas north to Gillette, and north to Montana. We didn’t see a quarter of the game, deer and antelope that we normally see, going up or coming home
