I know if the citizens of those countries in which ISIS is walking around freely had guns in their homes, ISIS wouldn't be walking around freely as they are now.  Japan knew that invading the US would be a blood bath for them because Japan knew there was a huge amount of guns in the hands of free brave man & women.

ISIS,l if you are reading this, come over and visit GA and see how will it will go for you!

It's amusing propaganda. They really are getting better at using social media. Unfortunately, it's about as effective and scary as me saying I'm going to fly over to armpit-a-bad this weekend and take some provocative and compromising pictures of their goats and camels.

The first time I flew to Saudi Arabia courtesy Desert Storm, our contract mil-air flight touched down at Riyadh and the stewardess said, "Welcome to Riyadh, the local time is... turn your watches back 400 years."

She was largely right, although in hindsight, I may be painting the whole Arab community with too broad a camel brush.    ;D

The sad part of all this is "they" have changed our way of life and our freedoms.

Terrorism has definitely changed America. It's nowhere near as bad as some other countries but I think we lost some of our collective innocence on September 11th, 2001. Much like the shock we received at Pearl Harbor.

We can't travel by air like we used to. It's all shoe removal, full body scans and anal probes now just to travel from little old Fairbanks to Anchorage. How much money and blood have we shed to try and quell some disturbances in the middle east?

We now have military veterans with more combat time than any other generation in American history. I've met soldiers with seven one year tours under the belts. That's seven years of their lives spent in the desert. In part, because some religious ideological nutbags want to subject the rest of us to Sharia law, bad personal hygiene and an unhealthy affinity for desert livestock. And for the love of god... please learn how to use toilet paper! ;D

Shoe removal is a minor inconvenience, wash my feet anyway and wear socks without holes.Hope most do.Anal probe? How many have had that done ?? I don't think so unless you have been flying places I don't.Certainly not Fairbanks to Anchorage.

Terminator,

The probe comment was just an attempt at sarcasm. The closest I've actually been to such a probe was when I had my first colonoscopy two weeks ago or more recently this past weekend when I stuck a digital meat thermometer into a turkey and terrorism had nothing to do with either one of those. Although, the turkey might disagree with me on that point.  ;D

Still, minor inconvenience or not, we can't travel by air like we used to...courtesy of  terrorism.

This morning in a few hours, I will have my ID card checked at one of the gates to the Army installation where I work. My vehicle may be searched and I will have to provide the guard with my drivers license, registration and proof of insurance. Another minor inconvenience due to FPCON Bravo courtesy some fanatics who live in a desert far, far away or perhaps due to some homegrown fanatics who live within our own borders. Like the two who were shot down in Garland, Texas last week.

Sep & Terminator, I can see the inconvenience, and there are some TSA areas that are worst than others.  Here in GA, I show my military ID, and I don't get special treatment, I still go through the same BS, but it seems like they are not as anal to me as they are to other passengers.

The problem we are having is the pussyfication of America with all the rules of engagement, collateral damage and all the BS our Gov wants to throw at us.  I wonder what the Germans and Japanese were to say about those terms we use now?  Cause I'm sure we didn't have them then.  What we need to do, is basically commit to the cause and hunt & kill all these a$$holes.  But, we can't even water board them without having to explain it to a Congressional Committee why we are doing that......REALLY?????

I'm glad the boys in TX shot those SOBs dead, so we are not dealing with providing medical treatment, trial, and prison time and all the BS that goes with it.  Guantanamo should have four rooms; one for in-processing these idiots, two where they sleep at room temperature (cause I know they do not have AC where they live in the desert or mountains), three for interrogation, and four where they'll go meet Allah.  Simple.

OK, I'll get off my soap box,and I hope I didn't offend anyone. :D

Para45,

Agreed. We Americans are voluntarily restricted by our own views of liberty, morality and laws. In some cases, people and soldiers die as a result of it too.

Others would argue if we simply exterminate the terrorists like 14th Century cockroaches, we are no better than they are.

It was easy during the cold war. We knew who the enemy was, how he fought and where to find him. ISIS could be in Syria or a radicalized American could be in Garland, Texas. How do you effectively stop such a threat?

I would argue we've done a pretty good job so far but there is still much work to be done. In my overly simplistic world view, there are really only two ways to stop terrorism. By some sort of force/coercion or by reason and judging by the victims I've seen on social media...I don't think reason will work very well with this crew.

So, perhaps we should offer ourselves to the terrorists? Any Jihadists reading this post who would like to publicly execute Americans on YouTube, please give us a call at 1-800-INFIDEL. Operators are standing by, special operators that is...  ;D
