.416 Safari Custom Arrived !

Well, it has arrived in my dealer's shop and now I have to wait the obligatory 7 days to pick it up (next monday at the earliest). I did get to see and handle it. The wood is absolutely gorgeous - really outstanding and the most beautiful stock I have personally seen. 

While I didn't get to handle it all that much as I had to get back to work, I thought that the rear sight was not square with the receiver - a bit rotated off to the right. I'll have to do some further checking when it is in my hands, but this would be a real disappointment if so.

Will post pics somewhere when I have it in hand.

So, how did the Safari work out?  I'd love to see some pictures and hear you comment on the Custom Shops current work.  Did you rifle have the new hollow bolt knob?

Here is a photo I took last evening. Interestingly, I tried uploading a few pics to "My Trophy Room" here and though they appeared to upload, they are not available for viewing.
The quality and workmanship is excellent. The sights are spot-on with factory ammon (which chrono'ed over my Oehler 35P at an avg of 2715 at 15 ft from the muzzle with 400gr SAF). Still not certain that the rear sight is perfectly centered on the barrel, but it is sighted in.

Your Safari is beautiful.  I wish the other pics were available as I'd love to see more of the rifle.  I've got a 378 on order myself that is past due and am looking forward to it's arrival however am a bit concerned it will arrive with the terrible new hollow bolt knob.

I really like the Safari Custom and think it would be interesting to also have one in a .257.

Regarding the pics, there is definitely something wrong with the website.  I've uploaded a few pics in the same format and in the same manner as I did with others, and all I end up seeing is the "?" the next day.  It's a glitch and I can't seem to get a response from the administrator.

Beautiful rifle!!!

I would love to own one of the very large Weatherby Calibers some day.  I would love even more to have a reason to purchase such a rifle, a chance to visit the lands of which Hemingway and Ruark wrote and put one to good use.
