Danno you hit the nail on the head you presented all the facts weatherby will stand behind there products (yes I am a fan boy) bottom line no other companies stay in business with poor products and poor customer service I had an issue I have a weatherby 300mag vanguard I bought in 2004-05 and it shot like a dream 180gr noslar partition no issues what so ever so a few years later the whitetail bonz wby x stock came out for the vanguard series 2 I ordered it asap and when I revived it I put the new stock on my old vanguard  torque the bedding screws like I was told and the rifle would not cycle at all call weatherby they said no problem they sent me a pre paid box and I shipped it out through my local gun store and about two weeks later I received it back and it cycles perfectly and it shoots  exactly like its supposed to I know there may be an issue with anything but if you have a issue with weatherby they will make it right period

There sure seems to be a LOT of people on this site who are all to anxious come to the "rescue" if anyone has something negative to say about a Weatherby  product or states something of which they disagree with. Most people call that debate or feedback, apparently on this site  they're labeled a basher or a troll. Comical...Lol

Contrary to what some believe I didn't join this site with the intent of "bashing" Weatherby rifles. Like I've posted several times already I've owned several Weatherby rifles over the years and currently have 2 sitting in my gun safes. I like (not love or hate) Weatherby rifles but I also currently own and have owned lots of other "off brand" rifles including pre 64 Win 70's, Sako's, Tikka's, Remington 700s, CZ's, Cooper, and 2 custom builds.  I guess since I'm not"Weatherby brand loyal" or believe they are the best rifle ever made like many on this site believe I'm a "troll" and not welcome.

I surely won't loose any sleep over it. I've come to the conclusion there are a too many thin skinned people on this site who can't look past a brand logo and can't acknowledge there just might be something as good or better than what they own. I'm outta here..........

Gosh! I can't believe I got on a website named WEATHERBY NATION and the people on there are big fans of Weatherbys! OMG!!! I mean all I wanted to do was say on WEATHERBY NATION that I think the products the entire community here are based around are sorta mediocre, I can't believe people don't completely agree with me! Well that does it, I'm gonna disappear, like a Ghost!!!

Like I always tell the detractors; there are those who own Weatherby rifles and there are those who wish they did...

WA Mtnhunter, "For those that wish they did", the Vanguard is no more expensive than other entry level rifles, comes with an accuracy guarantee and they could try it out for themselves, but then they wouldn't be able to curse in the dark and bash Weatherby.

Ghostman, I was nice earlier, and took you at your word that you're not a hater. But you appear to be trying to post inflammatory info and rile things up. You came to a Weatherby site, and found people willing to defend the brand. No shock there.

Now, the reality is, you don't know what you're talking about, and your comments belie that you are not a well versed rifleman or Weatherby aficionado. Furst, throat length has nothing to do with inherent accuracy. I have not one rifle from any maker which shoots best up close to the lands. Moreover, stout bullet designs like the Partition, A-Frame, E-Tip, TTSX, and GMX all perform better in my experience with more distance to the lands. That experience is several thousand rounds worth,  across no fewer than six different manufacturers.

Additionally, the Mark V hasn't had a hammer forged barrel in more than two decades, nor has it come with a #1 contour barrel in that time except by special order. Even the ULW, with the thinnest Mark V production barrel is a modified 1.5 contour. To paraphrase the dark lord of the sith, I find your lack of facts disturbing.

I'm sure you'll want the last word, but here's the deal. I have immediate access to six different Mark Vs amongst my own safe and those of a few friends. I'll let you choose any one of them, and I'll shoot the load of my choosing against you with any factory stock rifle from any other production maker. Distance qill be 500yds, and the target is a 2MOA gong. The bet? A new Accumark for me, in 340Wby, or a rifle of your choosing for you, of comparable value. Time to put up or shut up.
