Hmmm from 6.5-300Bee to the 270 Win, ??? Well I don't own a 270 anything and doubt if I will but I do have a 35 Whelen and a 35 Whelen AI ;D

I certainly own firearms I don't need...I get it, but this caliber...I mean if I saw any utility, I would get it.

There have been several wildcat choices in this category for years...either the 6.71 Lazzeroni Blackbird or the 6.5 Ultra Mag. An ultra-velocity 6.5mm just doesn't perform that well on game.

Nothing personal...ultra-velocity 7mm cartridges have the same reputation. The 7mm Remington Mag and 7mm Weatherby Mag are both about right velocity-wise.

Truth is...the .264 Win Mag really represents the practical limit on 6.5mm cartridges. Maybe a little bit of a stretch based on it's popularity since introduction.
