Draw any tags? Planning any Fall hunts?

Didn't draw in Colorado. Three of us got tags for Idaho in October, 1 mule deer tag and 2 elk tags. I got the mule deer tag. Never hunted Idaho before so it will be an adventure.
I love the smell of deer guts in the morning, it smells like...VICTORY!

Alberta residents still have 3 weeks left before we find out about any big game draws we applied for, and 6 weeks before speed goat and mountain goat draws. Alberta is one of the provinces that has landowner tags. My mulie draw is about due iv'e been appling for 5 years.

On MLD land in Texas you don't even use your tags. All you need is a hunting license.I know guys that will shoot 10 Whitetails sometimes.7 bucks and 3 doe. There really is no limit if you have the money to hunt MLD.

In Virginia, we don't need a license for self owned/ immediate family owned property, which is all I hunt. No elk or mule deer, but we get 2 antlered whitetail tags, and three antlerless whitetail tags, a black bear tag, and a few turkey tags. My dad just purchased this 250 acre farm 4 years ago and it had been completely ravaged of anything that moved before we got it. We now have significantly gotten the whitetail population back and hopefully pull a trophy or two out this year.

Yea I kind of forgot that you can buy elk and moose tags for northern zones but I live in the south right on the Montana border on 20,000 acres of native prairie that has great mule deer, the provincial record elk last year and I found the sheds on a nearly 60 inch Moose. I would have to drive 10 hours and buy a tag to hunt. I am usually busy with cattle in the fall so just hunt around feeding the calves.

Didn't get drawn for elk this year  been putting in for those early trophy hunts & building bonus points.  Still have half a freezer full of elk from the last two years.   Put in for bonus point only for deer & antelope this year pretty busy already scouting for my wife's upcoming AZ antelope hunt.   My son drew a  late  AZ bull  elk hunt and  he put in for coues deer in the same unit ,  will know in a month or so  if he draws a coues tag.  Kind of hope so they are much better eating than our Mule deer.   Could put in for left over  coues deer tags down south on the border,  but to be honest our plate is pretty full this year and following year  due to things we want to do other than hunting like taking the boat to lake powell a few times,  maybe once later this year and several times next year with friends and their boats, basically camping on the lake,  drinking lots of refreshments,  probably ice tea for me,   and catching striper and whatever else.   Will be  on long range fishing boat out of San Diego late next year  fishing lower in Baja.   Need to upgrade  in at least one new 2 speed 50 class reel 130 to 150 lb spectra line with camo fluorocarbon topshots,  don't laugh it works.  The plan will be targeting cow sized  (200 lb + )  yellowfin tuna fishing the rail.   Love the  Avet Raptor HX2 speed for wahoo and smaller  schooling size yellowfin & Bluefin tuna a little too big  a  reel for California  yellow tail imo been looking at the new Okuma Metaloid 12II  2 speed or Penn Fathom narrow 40 lever drag 2 speed.   Most likely try for some Grouper bottom fishing.   Don't know if ma ma is going to let me buy either of those  she's giving me the evil eye when it comes to un needed higher end reels.

Well I got skunked this year, 0 for 3. I can chase elk and mule deer on a general tag, so it is not a tragedy.

I've taken a 6-pt bull in a general area, so we are capable of taking a nice animal.

Have to do some scouting this summer...

I applied for South Dakota, and now the waiting game begins.  Ever since South Dakota got hit with CWD, the number of non-resident tags was dropped significantly.  The area I applied for has only 48 Mule Deer tags, 53 White Tail tags & 50 antlerless tags.  So, my chances are very slim, but if I don't apply I'll never know.
