Can't make up my mind

I need some help and thought I would ask here too. I need a new bow, so I went to scheels and shot everything they had that fit me. So it comes down to two choices that I really like. The Mathews 32 6 and the Elite option 6. Price is the same, so that makes no difference. Any input would be appreciated.

I own a Bowtech, but my buddy has a Matthews and swears by it. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with either one, maybe Chris will see your post and respond.  I ended up buying mine because it was smooth and the quietest bow I had ever used.

All bows these days beat the hell out of my 12 year old Mathews. Yeah I guess elite was started by one of the lead engineers of bowtech. Gonna go shoot them again tonight and see if I can jar my brain into a decision.

If all else is equal then consider "secondary" things that could become important.

How is the warranty with each?
How easy is it to get warranty work - a warranty might be "great" until you actually need it.

How long have they been in business? Will they likely still be in business 5 or 10 years from now (whatever you consider the lifecycle of the bow).

Do you need a press to work on one but not the other?

Does one look "way cooler" than the other? :) When hunting you spend "hours" looking at your bow, gun, sling shot and mere "seconds" actually using it....

I have an Elite Tempo. I bought it cause they finally started putting roller guards on some of their models. I once had the Elite Z28 which was a sweet bow. I have had a couple Mathews and even a Mission bow. Had a bowtech.
I love the Elite bows. The Option 6 has the adjustable roller guard to help tune the bow. I really dig that. I am not loyal to any brand but if it was me I would get the Option 6. If you want a little longer brace height I think they have an Option 7 as well. Mine has a 7 1/8" brace which does make it a little more forgiving.
When it comes to using a variety of broadheads I have had better luck with Mathews and the Elites. Don't know if that is just me,plain luck or if other brands like to make it hard to tune fix blade heads. If you are using mechanicals that doesn't seem to matter much most of the time.

And Elite has the best warranty out there as well. Not that I have used it before.

Looking forward to seeing your decision.

My first compound was a Jennings model W,  then I sent to a Browning safari.  I loved the Safari, it was an all wood compound and light as a feather!!!  In the end it's what personal features you want out of your bow. My Bowtech guardian was one of the quietest bows made, which was why I liked it. The Bowsite ratings had a big influence on my choice too.

Thanks everyone. I will be buying the elite next week. Only next week since I know one of the salesmen and want him to get the commission. Galamb I took your advise and checked out the quivers and I like the elites quivers the best and the lines on the bow....you know the "pretty" :D. Chris thanks for your input, that really cemented my decision. I think I will stick with the 6 inch for the bit of extra speed they say it gives. Also if I need to practice a bunch to learn a finicky bow it will help me perform better under pressure, and the animal deserves that much at least. Again thanks for all your help and I will post picks of the set up sometime next week, weather and work permitting. ;D

Went and picked up the bow today after a dentist appointment. Got it tuned and the 20 yard pin dialed in. Will play with it more throughout the week. Can't say how much I like it until I get some serious target time in with it.

Just received my July issue of American Hunter mag and found some interesting articles, one of which I thought I'd pass along in this section. I'm going to add the link here, as its a short read. Because I'm not a bow hunter, I'm not pro or con on this method of instruction, and there may be other good ways to get the same results. If you or your Archery Pro teach a different method, I think  it might be helpful for some bowhunters. Believe its about compound bows.

I know, dropped my own thread, total jack ass move. Been working longer hours. So far I know that the true glow sight I bought will not adjust far enough enough so it always shoots left. I tried moving my rest to compensate, but that put me out of tune. So Friday I am going to take it back to the shop to see if they can do something about it, or I will machine the rest down a bit so it will come over far enough.

Chris I will post pictures when it shoots good enough that I am proud of the setup, but that might be a bit ::)

Also are 340 gpi arrows stiff enough?

My bow is 71.5@28.5 and I use 340 and 330's. If you are drawing low 60's I would use a 400 spine.

Mine is currently 70# at a 29" draw. So I guess 340s are probably adequate.  I just was not sure since I am shooting the same arrows as I was with the old  Mathews drenalin. Hopefully i can sneak out of work early enough tomorrow and get to the shop.
