I agree with what the others posted, there is little difference between the two. Both will work great for just about anything in North America, since you don't reload, go with what caliber you can find ammo for locally easily.

debating now on 270 wyb what gun would be better for whitetail deer and black bear shots all under 500 yards was looking at 6.5 300 to was looking at ballistics didn't see much difference in the two most shots probably 100 to 200 yards what caliber and which factory load don't reload any more just for hunting two weeks out of year thanks for any input stuck between these two
True statement on ballistics, as stated. If you view this situation in the long run, you would probably save hundreds of dollars, if not more depending on the type of shooter you are, in ammunition by going with the 270 Wby. (although its not money in the bank) You could consider the Mark V Wby, over the Vanguard, as a bit more solid investment in the long haul, even if you buy lightly used. ;)
