I grew up with dad teaching us to zero at 200 yards with our scoped hunting rifles. So my .243 Win (Rem 700 BDL, 1973 vintage), .308 (Howa 1500 & Savage 99), .300 Savage (Savage 99), .30-06 (Rem 700 ADL to BDL conversion) are all zeroed at 200 yards.
I am debating on the .30-06 as I put a new Busnell Forge 3-18x50 on it and those instructions state to zero at 100 yards.
Have not had the pleasure of shooting the new .300 Wby yet, waiting for the scope to arrive this coming week.
Winchester 94's are all 100 yards with iron sights.
