After a not so wonderful visit with my Dr. I decided I needed a little cheering up so I stopped at my favorite gun shop on the way home and picked up a new 442-1 Airweight. It's a 38 Special +P and holds 5 rounds.
I've been wanting to switch to a revolver for my pocket carry because I'm just not comfortable carrying a gun in my pocket that's got a round chambered and is cocked. The Glock 43 is the one I least care for but it's a good piece. The Sig 238 is better because I can lower the hammer and put the safety on but in a crisis situation I have to remember to take the safety off and cock it.
The little revolver I got today is a DA only but with a little practice you can learn to stage it so it's very much like a single action. It's a 2" barrel and super light. I've got it in a sticky pocket holster and it feels really natural. If you look hard you might think I had a cell phone in my pocket. I think I'm going to like this little guy.
I also like the fact that it's all black. I think if you're going to carry in your pocket you should have something that doesn't reveal itself easily if you accidently reach into your pocket and partially pull it out.
