UZI Pistol

UZI Pistol

I just won a bid on an IMI UZI Pistol at GunBroker. I bid it at the starting bid and it held to the end. The Title was done weird so a search on UZI or IMI did not turn it up. I came across it by chance. This is a collectors piece since it was only made for a short period of time and most were issued to the Secret Service and other such agencies around the world. There are a lot of fakes floating around but this is the real deal. I could flip it today for twice what I paid for it. This is not the select fire version, it is semi auto only and I have no plans to mess with it. It will go into my safe and sit.

The picture is from GunBroker.

This completes my bucket list of must have guns for my collection. The AK-47, Russian SKS, Turkish Ottoman Empire Mauser and the UZI were the last things on my list and I have them now.

Congratulations. Yep I think known as an Uzi Micro. There is a famous photo at the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan where the bodyguard has one - checked and looks more like a mini than a micro like yours.

I shoot cases with a belt because I feel the other cartridges need to pull their trousers up.

Yes, you are correct, this is the Mini and yes that was what the Secret Service had when Reagan was shot. Those were select fire versions. Once I have it in hand and have some numbers off it, I will work on the provenance.

I got the UZI last Thursday but have been busy helping my neighbor replace some fence. I did some research and so far it's looking good from a collectors standpoint. It is a model B which is the last version made and it is pristine with very few rounds through it. It was cleaned very well and oiled when I go it. It has the original manual, sight tool and one 20 round magazine. It also has two 32 round magazines that were included in the deal but were not part of the original package. I also have the original Action Arm's (Importer) barcode label.

The pistols were made from 1984-1993 with the model B being the last version. It also has the attaching point for the folding stock but it was not included since that would require a SBR stamp.

As far as collectables go, it is highly collectable and prices are typically whatever someone is willing to pay. I got this for 1495.00 and have already been offered 2,000.00 for it. I turned that down and have since seen others in not as good condition going for 2500.00. I've also seen them sell for less than I paid but not as complete.
