A sure sign you need to do a serious copper removal job is when accuracy goes south. Aside from that, some copper in the barrel is alright. Removing all the copper is going to take a long time, plus as soon as you are using copper bullets, the copper goes back into those places where you worked long and hard to free of copper.
Also, powders such as RL-23 and RL-26 have anti-coppering agents to help keep the copper from sticking to the bore. I have used a lot of RL-26, firing mostly all-copper bullets, in my 7mm Weatherby. The bore has virtually no copper.
