Sad Job
« on: January 04, 2020, 03:09:40 PM »
My late 99 year old neighbor's family are going through her life's stuff in her house. Tear filled job! I offered my help but not much I could do but offer help and packing materials. Her nephew offered me condolences because he knew how much I did for her. Class act, Luke! "My other mother" was 6 weeks shy of her 100th birthday. She did make it to her second go round with the '20's. Birthday of 2/12/1920 !  Lost a friend!   :'(

Very sad. It very much sounds as if she lived a fine life though. 99 years old and still in her own house! Sounds likes an amazing woman!

Yes, she did and realized right off it was not Rambo that she knew from a pup. She and I were friends for the 18 years I have been here. Everybody in the neighborhood was her friend and looked out for her. Her preacher pulled up one day a few years back and reached for the door knob without knocking, I didn't know him and confronted him. I apparently scared him so bad that she was laughing and told everybody. He made his sermon about how God looked out for her that week. Apparently he has a sense of humor after the fact. I'll see him at the service, again.

Sorry for your loss and I commend you for watching out for her but I'm not surprised in the least you did because you're a good guy and that's your way.  I bet that Preacher thought he was going to meet God the day you confronted him and he learned a good lesson for sure.

Grouchy, I am so sorry to hear of her passing, my deepest condolences to you.  She was lucky to reach 100 years of age, but more lucky to have neighbors & friends like you.  God bless her.

My sympathy in the loss of your friend and neighbor. I've heard it said that "if you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else." I'm sure she appreciated everything you did for her many times over.
