Two-tone Mark Vs?

Two-tone Mark Vs?
« on: October 10, 2020, 12:03:54 PM »
I recall Weatherby doing a run of two-tone guns about 15-20 years ago. Synthetic stock, black action, stainless bbl. I owned one in .270 Wby and I’d like to find another one.

How long did Wby mfg these? And what calibers were they made in?

Thanks in advance

Would have to have been ultralites then

The early Ultralites had a gray stock,or some people would call them a light blue color with black spider webbing.

Valmet... Here's a couple pic's of an early Ultra model. The stock coloring is a little worn, but I'm sure you get the idea of the color combo's. Is this it?

Did the black stock have a greyish spider webbing? If there is was no webbing,I would think it would have to be a Synthetic stock and not Composite

No webbing at all- flat black synthetic, Black action, matte stainless bbl.

I had a .270 Wby example and saw a .300 Win Mag fairly recently

The barrel wasn't nickel plated like the Alaskan model?

If by some chance you have the serial number of your old rifle, or can track down one for that 300 maybe Weatherby will tell us what model or special run it is.

Was the stock plastic tupperware with impressed chequering or a fiberglass composite?

I am following this with interest as I've discovered that there were various models and even special runs for certain stores etc. by following this forum.

I shoot cases with a belt because I feel the other cartridges need to pull their trousers up.

I don’t recall the SN but they were US mfg, Atascadero era guns, stocks had impressed checkering IIRC. I’d love to find another.

must have been a very limited run on them, I have never seen one. Be interesting if someone had one and posted some pics of it.
