2nd Mark V
« on: January 15, 2022, 08:56:36 AM »
Well guys I just bought my second Mark V. I got it in 270wby and I'm excited to see what it can do. I sold 2 vanguards in 270win and 300wby to get this gun. It's and accumark just like my 340wby. I'm putting a burris veracity 3x15 on it. Can't find ammo but have found brass and ordered dies for it. If anyone has this what's your load data if you don't mind helping out.

Nice! My load info won't help as mine is 1 in 12 twist rate.    :)

IMR 7828 is a good powder for it. 150grain usually shoot better than 130grain. But not always

Loaded 130 grain scirocco's for my deluxe have another 140 grain accubond load a gent sent me and they shot well in another deluxe model i have.

130's - 140's should be pretty lights out. I prefer the scirocco's -

I load for three 270 wby's, and never had a lot of good results with getting the 140's to shoot in mine. With 130's the first powder to try is 7828ssc, and with 150's try RL25 frist. I have pretty much settled on the 130's for 270 Wby, with a modern stout made 130 gr bullet @ 3500fps, I have no problem using them to take game including moose and elk at reasonable hunt distances.

thank you sir if I can find powder I sure will try them out. I like the 140s cause it's the best of both worlds of speed and weight. But if the 130s are better then that is what I'll shoot.

I would try the 140's if that's what you want to shoot, they might work well in your rifle. I like to use the same load in all three of my 270's and just found the 130's easier to get to shoot the same load in all three.  IF you can't find any 7828ssc or RL25, other powders that will work fine are IMR 4831, RL19,RL22,RL23, viht 165, H1000, just won't get the as fast loads as 7828 or RL25.
