the Hornady website states that bullets needs a 1-8.5" twist and unless they recently changed the 30-378 I owned had a 1-10" twist. So don't be surprised if it don't shoot well with that bullet.

Have the same gun , doesn’t seem to agree with any bullet heavier than 180 grain. Good luck and post results.

I didn't go any heavier than 200 in mine. And the settled on either the 200grn TSX or 200grn Accubond. Mine is purely a hunting rig so have mainly focused on hunting projectiles. I did try some 200 or 210grn Bergers and Speer match projectiles but my rifle just did not like them.

Thanks for the info guys, I’ll keep you informed, I’ll have the gun next week then I have to decide what glass I’m going to put on it then I’ll start working loads, I have some Hornady 225grain ELD-M bullets I’ll probably try first

I've shot a lot of targets with my 30-378, and one elk. I've not had the greatest of luck with longer projectiles. I use monolithic (copper bullets) in case I have to use it in CA, and actually, I think they're good bullets. anyway, and I don't like thinking of injesting the lead from a shot animal. The twist rate is really a length issue. The longest bullets I've tried are the 200 gr. Barnes LRX bullets. Accuracy is OK as long as I use a very slow powder. Best accuracy has been with H50BMG, believe it or not. Yet I can't get decent accuracy out of US869, Retumbo, or Norma 217, for example. Reloader 33 has shown some promise, as has IMR 8133. Now it's tough to get powder, so it's been a few months. I'm thinking the bullet is a bit long for 1/10" twist, so I bought a bunch of 180 gr Nosler E-Tips for experiment. By the time I get a really good load, the barrel will be shot out LOL!!

I haven't tried a great deal of pills in my 30-378. Mainly because it is used only for hunting and a bit of target plinking. Being a Barnes fan they were my main pills I wanted to use. I eventually settled on a load of 86 grains of AR2213sc which is H4831 over there. They group right at Half MOA. I tried some Berger and a Speer match projectiles (not sure what load) but my rifle hated them. I also ran some Accubonds with the same powder and those too were half MOA and hit at near enough to the same POI at 100 yards that I could use both loads with out having to re site my rifle.

I only used the 180's, so I'm not much help, but RL25 worked for me

Mine doesn't like 180 it throws them, it's currently setup for 200 grain.

Not sure that bullet will work due to the required twist. Myself, I have been shooting the Berger OTM 230 sitting on H1000 for years. Very accurate.
