Mount suggestion

I just purchased a weathermark in 30-378. I have decided on a leupold VX5HD 3-15x44 scope. Now trying to figure out the mount. Considering a backcountry 2 piece, but concerned about whether it has enough durability for this cartridge.  Anyone have any experience with this combo or have a recommendation on what rings/bases/height I will need for this. Thanks in advance!

With a 44 mm scope, medium rings should work fine. I like Leupold rings and mounts. With one exception, I have a set of Con-trol rings and Mts. on my custom 6.5 X .280 AI. Never had a problem with any. Even my old Savage 99, ..300 Savage has Leupold rings and mounts securing a Leupold M8 4 Xwith tapered crosshairs.

I love my Conetrols. The sleek look and how they work.Got them on my 74 model Custom shop Deluxe 240 magnum.I haven't rezeroed the rifle since I changed from shooting 70 grain Hornady's to the 85gr TSX about 10 years ago. They are some good bases and rings.
