Your Favorite 22 Rifle

     Favorite 22 rifle is a Marlin model 783 22 Magnum prod. date 1976 with 3x9 variable scope. Bolt action repeater with the micro-groove rifling, very accurate.

My favorite .22 rifle is a Rem 541 T.  I lengthened it's stock to the same LOP as my hunting rifles, and topped it with a Leupold VX Freedom 3-9x40 CDS  Scope so practice with it is very similar to the fit of my hunting rifles.

I have a Remington Model 504 bolt action rifle (22 LR). It kind of like a scaled down Remington 700.

Remington 513-t Matchmaster, made in 1961. When I was a teenager in the late 70s, it could punch a 50 occasionally in the NRA 50 foot junior program and adult league. That was using the Remington Target .22 ammo I seem to remember the gun club selling for 50 cents a 100 count box they got through the DCM. Flip forward to my 50s and I pulled it out for the first time in decades. I cobbled a scope on it and tried Eley Club. With flags out and no wind, it'll punch sub 1" five shot groups all day. It's best being right around 1/3 of an inch. It was meant to be a bargain rifle but it sure does shoot! My shooting days are limited now, few and far between,and not a lot even then. Thank the Lord Jesus for all the shooting I did get in!

If Weatherby started building these again, I would have to buy one.

If you hear of Weatherby making another run of these rifles I would suggest you immediately get ahold of a dealer that will be issued a couple and pre-pay him for them.That's the only way you are going to get one or two on a limited run.They will never hit the retail shelves.All were bought already in the 1st run.I'm sure a second run would be the same way.

As I've stated here before,it was a no brainer to buy one of these rifles at $799 to $899,because the same Anschutz rifle was selling like hot cakes for the same amount and they had really plain wood and were just a blah blah looking 22.Weatherby's were in fancy Walnut stocks with fancy grain and figure and high gloss finish.They would have sold out at $1299 at the time IMO.

For reasons unknown (yes, they would sell like hotcakes), it doesn't appear that they will ever build any more. That's a shame too.

Springfield Armory came out with a new 22 LR made in Turkey.  Not a bad looking rifle at all.

Ok I got one, my brother had a lever ithaca (i think that's how it's spelled) single shot 22, i remember it got to where it wouldn't eject the shells but man we had a ball with that thing. Many of turtles said goodbye when that rascal cracked!

22lr would be my ruger 10/22 and may 22mag is an ar and shoots moa I love that 22mag I have one in 17hmr also and that's very accurate.

I would order 1 the second I heard of it. I bought the 17HMR version with the thought of getting the 22 next, but was too late they sold out.

I only have one .22 rifle (yes, sorry), and it's the Remington 597 in .22LR, upgraded with Volquartsen parts. I wouldn't say it's my favorite, but it works, despite that so many people are having issues with it.

Made a video years ago. Back then I said I'm okay with its accuracy and precision, but now I'm not.
Might need to take this back to the range as well...

Considering you did not use a scope, or a bench, I'd say the accuracy of that rifle is not bad at all.

My 37 year old son has the one I gave him that I got from my dad in 1975. At that time my dad also gave me the matching 410 lever action shotgun. They were called saddle guns and sold as a junior set. They both still shoot and function excellently.

Remington Nylon 66

My dad gave it to my younger brother in the late 60s and we three have put countless rounds through it.
Plus every kid in the family since then, including grandkids have enjoyed shooting cans, overripe fruit, clay pigeons etc with it.
I can’t remember a time it didn’t feed and fire perfectly.

I like my XXii but the Nylon 66 is simply fun.
